After becoming one of boxing’s top Box Office attractions, ‘Tank’ returns to the ring this weekend to face-off with his long-standing rival in a bid to settle their ongoing feud.

Davis and Romero were initially scheduled to meet last December before a legal case against the latter forced a shock postponement. ‘Tank’ instead took on a late replacement clash against Isaac Cruz, eventually overcoming the tough Mexican by unanimous decision in California.
This ended a devastating run of 16 consecutive stoppage victories stretching back to 2015 for ‘Tank’ but it was a testing match-up that only added to his ever-growing reputation and profile at the top level.

Next up he will defend his current WBA lightweight title against Romero in the biggest grudge match of the year so far.
Davis will return to the scene of his first-ever world title victory back in 2017 when he arrives at the Barclays Center in New York this weekend.
An impressive seventh-round KO of Jose Pedraza saw him claim the WBA super-featherweight title and become the youngest world champion in boxing at that time at just 22 years old.
Five years on, ‘Tank’ is riding high as one of the biggest draws in the sport and remains undefeated in 26 career fights, as he aims to add Romero to his growing list of notches alongside Leo Santa Cruz, Mario Barrios and Isaac Cruz.
‘Rolly’ will take to the ring in Brooklyn as an underdog but one with huge confidence nevertheless. The 26-year-old has never featured on such a high-profile event so far and is yet to face an opponent of Davis’ calibre.
With the possibility of an undisputed lightweight clash against the winner of George Kambosos Jr. vs. Devin Haney next on the horizon with victory this weekend, ‘Tank’ won’t be taking Romero lightly in his quest to cement his position as number one in a thriving division.
