From the embattled city of Flint Michigan, once the home of the automobile industry, now a place of desolation where even the water is unsafe to drink Claressa Shields, known by the moniker T-Rex has literally fought her whole life. This fierce and ferocious young lady has channeled her struggles into the the boxing ring. Shields is pound for pound one of the most successful amateur boxers from the U.S. in a generation, winning a World Amateur Championship, Pan Am Gold and Gold Medals in the 2012 and 2016 Olympic games. Shields turned pro in 2016 shooting straight to the top, as of Aug. 2017 Shields claimed the unified IBF & WBC Super Middleweight titles. She also serves as an ambassador for Up2Us Sports dedicated to coaching and mentoring underserved youth. Shields has also been the subject of the Netflix documentary T-Rex: Her Fight For Gold in which she detailed overcoming tremendous odds as well as child abuse to becoming an inspiring role model from young women and girls and really anyone who strives for greatness in spite of their personal struggles outside the ring. We are so proud to have T-Rex represent BOXRAW as embodies everything we are about as a brand - dedication and perseverance and Shields possesses those qualities in spades!
